Requirements

Psychology Major

The psychology major comprises ten courses; these are selected by students with their advisors and are subject to departmental review.

Psychology Minor

The psychology minor comprises six courses.

• Students must take PSYC 2510 Research Design in Psychology before PSYC 2520 Data Analysis and before any course numbered 2700 or higher. PSYC 2520 Data Analysis 必须与2700或以上的课程同时修习或先修. If possible, 学生应不迟于大三第一学期开始他们的实验工作.

Grade Requirements

To fulfill a major or minor requirement in psychology, 一门课程必须获得标准的字母成绩，并且必须获得C-或更高的成绩. There is one exception: PSYC 1101 Introduction to Psychology may be taken with the Credit/D/Fail grading option, 如果该课程获得了CR(学分)，则计入主修或辅修课程.

Information for Incoming Students

There is no placement test for PSYC 1101 Introduction to Psychology; we assume that most students have not had the opportunity to take a psychology course in high school. However, 在AP心理学考试中获得4分或更高分数的学生, or a score of 5 or better on the IB Psychology exam, Higher Level only, may skip PSYC 1101 Introduction to Psychology. For these students, we recommend PSYC 2010 Infant and Child Development or PSYC 2025 Psychopathology in the fall; or PSYC 2012 Educational Psychology, PSYC 2030 Social Psychology, PSYC 2040 认知:皇冠体育如何学习、思考和行动的科学, or PSYC 2050 Biological Psychology in the spring.
